When I was in my early 20s, dungarees were never my favorite.

Yes, it’s comfortable and cute for a lazy Sunday, but somehow I just feel like I look like a clumsy adult trying to look like a toddler.
As a pear-shaped curvy girl, I just don’t think dungarees can be flattering on me.

Well, I was so wrong.
With different outfit styling, dungarees can look so chic and even feminine.

So ladies, if you can ask me how to wear dungarees in plus size, below are my 6 tips.
Enjoy!

You want to learn all the styling hacks ONLY if you feel like it.
Remember, we never have the need to “fix” our bodies!

You don’t have to be pretty like HER, you can be pretty like YOU.

Thanks loves!❤️❤️❤️
1. BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT THE FABRIC OF DUNGAREES
Ladies, fabric matters. 👗✨
It’s worth investing in a good pair of dungarees that truly give you support and hug your curves. 👖💕
Instead of wearing thin fabric made from 80% polyester and 20% cotton, find sturdy fabric like denim and thick tweed. 🧵👌
Not only does the high-quality fabric give you a more decent look, but it is also supportive and thick enough to hold your belly and smooth out any lumps and bumps. 🔍✅
However, with the thin fabric, not only can it see through it and make our rolls look more obvious, this just makes our bodies look baggy. 😬👎
So ladies, if you want to look smart and structured in your dungarees, spend some time picking the right one! 💃🛍️
2. AVOID HUGE PRINTS TO MINIMIZE THE EXAGGERATING EFFECT
Know this tip is not something new, but ladies, definitely avoid huge prints. ⚠️🌸
We all know huge prints have an exaggerated effect and will make our body look bigger. 📏➕
The design of the dungarees will naturally add some bulk to our tummy area. 👖🤰
If you wear big floral prints, that’s going to exaggerate the belly even more. (I’ve been there, and I’ve never worn my floral print dungarees anymore; they’re just horrible.). 😱
So yes, a cute pinafore dress is more than enough. For the above black pinafore dress, here’s the Amazon review from l.garner: ✨👗
“Ordered this for a trip to a pumpkin patch and I LOVE it!! 🎃❤️ I ordered a size bigger just to be safe and I kind of wish I had ordered my regular size. I’m 5’2 and the dress was a great length, so if you’re taller it may be short. Definitely recommend!”! 📏👍
If you are reading this blog post till now, there’s one thing for sure…
You have good taste! <3 If you approve of some of these looks, please kindly pin or share some of these outfits so many tasteful fashion babes can come across this outfit inspo, thanks pretty! ❤️

And…it would truly mean the world to me if you stay until the very end. ❤️
3. GO FOR A V-NECK TOP TO BALANCE OUT THE CHILDISHNESS
Off-shoulder tops with dungarees are the best combination I’ve tried so far, it’s just truly flattering on me and I believe this applies to many other ladies as well!
It’s true that wearing dungarees can look a bit childish if you are not a teenager.
However, you can always wear a V-neck and off-shoulder top to add a touch of femininity to it.
By showing the neckline and clavicle, it perfectly balances out the cuteness of the dungarees.
As a chubby-cheeked girl, wearing an off-shoulder makes my face appear to be smaller and makes my upper body look less bulky.
If off-shoulder is not your thing, I do think wearing a V-neck is more flattering than a round neck.
With the sharp V shape lining, it can elongate our neck.
I usually try my best to avoid round neck and high neck tops as it makes my face looks bigger.
4. KEEP IT CASUAL CHIC WITH ONE STRAP

Sometimes when I wear my dungarees on, I just feel something’s not right. It took me some time to figure out the reason – I look too “obedient” with two stripes on with a white T-shirt underneath.
Especially when you are curvy, there isn’t much room in your dungarees and you just look a bit suffocated and cumbersome in them.
If you also have this concern, consider wearing it with one strap! This is such a no-fail tip to make you look chic and casual.
In winter, when I want to style a sweater with my dungarees, I will definitely wear one strap.
Not only does this give me more room to breathe (plus-size ladies will understand), but this just washes out the toddler vibes and help you look put together!
This is so random… BUT

- Your body is not a project to be fixed—it is a vessel for experiencing the fullness of life’s joys.
- You are allowed to love yourself completely today, not when you reach some future version of yourself.

5. ROLL & CUFF YOUR PANTS WHEN YOU WEAR DUNGAREES
If you love wearing long dungaree pants, let’s not forget to cuff your pants!
Without the help of high-waist jeans, wearing a dungaree can mess up our body ratio visually if we don’t know how to style it.
That being said, always roll and cuff your pants.
As the ankle is the thinnest part of our leg, we should always show it as it helps to elongate our legs more and make them appear to be longer.
6. WEAR DUNGAREE WITH FLARE DESIGNS FOR LONGER LEGS
Can we spend a few seconds admiring these flare jeans?

2 PICKS from SHEIN PLUS line:
1. Slant Pocket Denim Overalls
The flare design adds a touch of sophistication to your look and creates a feminine silhouette for you.
The best part? The flared leg design can effortlessly elongate your legs visually like magic!
