Update: I just added a classy styling trick to roll up your jeans, make sure you stay till the end Love x!
1. Always opt for a thin shirt to tuck to minimize the bulk❤️👇🏼
First thing first, always choose a good-quality thin shirt (not see-through) to tuck.

Avoid all the bulky or thick fabric tops like corduroy shirts or fisherman sweaters so you can tuck the shirt seamlessly without adding too much bulk. ❤️

In the meantime, always remember not to tuck in the shirt that is way too long, it just makes your belly bigger than it is.

For me, I always tuck clothes that are made from cotton and silk chiffon.
My favorite top to tuck is a plain white shirt, it never adds additional bulk!❤️
2. Always tuck your shirt with thick and structured materials❤️👇🏼
This tip is equally important (if not more) than finding the right thin shirt.

Trust me, there’s a HUGE difference between tucking it into structured high-waist denim jeans and tucking it into jeggings.
With structured fabric like denim jeans, thick cotton, and tweed, it gives you enough support to hold its shape and smooth all the bumps and bulk after you tuck your shirt. ❤️

That being said, avoid all the thin and stretchy materials like jeggings and stretch cotton pants, as they will exaggerate the bulk instead of hiding it.
Above is the jegging – a blend of cotton and polyester.
Yes, it is way more stretchy and flexible than jeans, but it will look really bad when you tuck in a shirt.
I know it sounds silly, but it takes me a while to realize the importance of the fabric!

Seriously, tucking the shirt just gets easier when I finally pay attention to the materials.
For me, I usually will tuck in skinny jeans, mom jeans, and any sort of high-waist structured dress.
3. Tuck it in high-waist pants or dresses❤️👇🏼
While it sounds obvious, in case you need a reminder, tuck it in high-waist pants!
The reason for us to tuck our shirts is to improve our body ratio and thus look taller and more put together. ❤️
Tucking it in the high waist can accentuate our waistline and make our legs appear longer!
So ladies, if you want to look more flattering, don’t tuck it in low-rise jeans.

Never.
4. Your belt is your best friend if you want to tuck in a thick top❤️👇🏼
If I really have to tuck in a thick top during winter, I will also add a belt to it.

As it’s unavoidably to look a bit baggy with a thick top, a belt can be a helpful tool to accentuate my waist and draw attention away from the bulk.
As a curvy girl, I just don’t think the thin belt is working on me.

Instead, I will choose the extra-thick belt to show my silhouette, and most importantly, it’s wide enough to hide the bulk!
5. Style your tucked shirt with a corset belt to level up your styling game❤️👇🏼
Ever since I styled my tucked shirt with a corset belt, it’s been a real game changer!

Who said you can only style a corset belt with oversized clothing? It can for sure make your tucked shirt look more put together and chic.
With the hard and supportive structure of the corset belt, it can perfectly hide any bulk.

There are so many high-quality plus-size corset belts out there, so I am sure you girls can find the right one! ❤️
I am truly surprised no one talks about tucking the shirt into a corset belt; this is definitely a no-fail and flattering way for the plus-size ladies!

Or else, if you are feeling carefree, just rock the shirt and belt like this lady above!
This just screams effortlessly chic in the best possible way.
Update:
These days, I’m obsessed with another kind of belt – a peplum belt! ❤️👇🏼

Featuring the peplum design, it hides the midsection area in the most stylish way.
Or else, team your shirt with a peplum skirt! ❤️👇🏼

Need I say more? This combo is such a confidence boost!

6. Do the front tuck to hide the muffin top and butt area❤️👇🏼
Besides the typical full tuck, the front tuck is also a casual way to go!
Some days when I don’t want to show my butt I will always go for the front tuck.
To do the front tuck, you can tuck the front portion of your shirt under the button of your pants and let the sides fall over the waistband. ❤️
That way, you can still show your waistline without showing your muffin top!
Or else, do a half tuck!❤️👇🏼

Despite it looking so effortlessly chic, the vertical line makes your legs appear to be longer visually and distracts attention from the midsection area.
Try this style out – you’ll be pleasantly surprised! ❤️
This is so random… BUT

7. Layering your outfits❤️👇🏼
Last but not least, let’s not forget we can always layer our outfits!

If you are worrying that tucking your shirt will show the love handle or belly, you can always do some easy layering to hide it!❤️
If you want a more casual look, a lightweight chambray button-down shirt is a perfect choice.
To jazz up the look, adding a blazer is the no-fail way to go.

I used to wear baggy tops in the past, and tucking in a shirt is not a comfortable thing for me to do.
So, adding some layering is a perfect way for me to go through this transition.
Plus, with layering, it defines your waistline and makes you look smart and sharp in a casual way!❤️
